Next Project

As I'm putting the finishing touches on our dining room transformation (and Joey's room), I am already gearing up for our next re-do: the master bedroom.

The design in our bedroom no longer my style and is missing a few things functionally. For example, the changing table was a temporary piece of furniture and we do not use it for changing babies anymore.

My most important goals for the room is for it to be light, semi-casual, and relaxing. We are working around some furniture we already have (bed and nightstands.) This is not a big budget project. Only a few pieces will be added/replaced.

The space also needs to be super-functional. Our home is very small with just 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I have long wanted a vanity area to do my hair/makeup. However, we also need a dresser for Joey's clothes (his "room" is a 6 X 6 foot office and does not have space for extra furniture.)

Here is what I have planned so far...

It all started with the Suzanne Kasler lamps in cream:

Bedding will all be changed out to white white white. I got everything from Amazon.

Side note: If you do not have Amazon Prime you are missing out. For an annual fee (of $80 I think) you get free two day shipping on everything they sell directly from Amazon. It more than pays for itself during the holidays and I use it to buy gifts and birthday presents for almost everyone.

Then I found this Duralee fabric for a oversize bolster or boudoir pillow:

Of course I will make new window treatments. I'm looking for the perfect grey linen.

They will have blackout lining and a continuous loop pull mechanism.

Changing table is out and this is in:

Two X-benches will go at the end of the bed. One can be pulled up to the Voltaire dress to use as a vanity. I have decided to splurge and have them covered in performance fabric. It is dirt and stain resistant and can be cleaned with Tilex or rubbing alcohol. More details about this AMAZING product coming soon.
